Hair straightener mistakes to avoid

Flat ironing on wet hair
Drying the hair is one of the secrets to using this type of hairstyling. Not only will your hair be smooth when its dry, but it will also look healthy. This is because the smoothing with the straightener damages the hair if it is still wet. Note it is preferable to dry the hair naturally rather than using the dryer.

Abuse of the straightening iron
Those who used the flat iron can confirm: this device is easy to use, especially if has ionic plates. However do not use the hair iron too often. Also, avoid using your straightener every day, as the heat damages the hair shafts in the long run, especially if you do not apply hair care products. The recommended frequency is 2 to 3 times a week.

Raising the temperature of the iron to straighten your hair faster
Sometimes you may be tempted to up the temperature of the hair straightener to smooth the hair faster. Error! Each hair type has its appropriate temperature at the risk of burns and serious damage. Also if your hair is fine or already showing signs of fragility, do not exceed 160°C. Normal hair, meanwhile, can be smoothed with a temperature up to 180°C, while hair that is thick or difficult to tame can use 200°C max. On the other hand, when you straighten your hair, do not keep the hair iron in one place for more than 2 seconds at a time, even if you some pieces are more reluctant to straightening.
Using the hair iron carelessly
The straightener can be a magical tool to revamp the hair, but it can also be a real hazard of causing accidents at home. Thus, to prevent any problems, please turn off your straightener after use. Some makes have a standby in case of non-use for 30 minutes, although it is always safer to turn it off when not in use or when you leave the room. Also, avoid putting the straightener on flammable surfaces (plastic, cloth, carpet etc).
