High Heels: very trendy!

In Italy they are called "Scarpino" - meaning: small shoe, in France they are "escarpin", elegant high-heeled shoes known as "Pumps," "High Heels" and "Stilettos". No matter what term we use: We simply love shoes heels.

The fashion of the “high heel cult” originated in Europe many centuries ago, high heels have evolved over the centuries, but they are still the epitome of female sensuality.


Fantastic colours and quality materials have transformed and brought out new variants of the beloved high heels.



What are high heels?
The word "High Heels" is self explanatory: The characteristic feature of the shoes are high heels. From a height of about ten centimetres, shoes are referred to as "High Heels".

The history of high heels
In the 16th Century, the pattern and sales caused these shoes to become an exclusive fashion trend. But the French Revolution caused this trend to fade.
Only in the 19th Century did high heels come back in fashion. Since then, there have been many variations of the high heel.

It is clear that the big breakthrough in high-heels in the 50s was due to the imagination and creativity of a fashion designer. This breakthrough contributed to some legendary stars: Marilyn Monroe alone put in an order for over 40 pairs of high-heels.

French fashion designer Roger Vivier models were loyal fans, including Brigitte Bardot and Ava Gardner. The latter is also wrapped in elegant Dior.

After a extravagant rush in the 50's, high-heels were banned in the 60’s by feminists who favoured comfortable flat shoes, and even doctors knew that high heels had numerous disadvantages: bad for the feet, dangerous for the back. Result: Only staunch fashionistas wore high-heels.

In the 90s, female celebrities celebrated their official comeback with high heels on their feet. A trend that witnessed a TV series: 'Sex and the City'! Carrie and Co. selected designer Manolo Blahnik and Jimmy Choo as the new shoe gods, the empire of luxury shoes and left them to live in an absolute fairy tale.
